Cooking in Heels

Logistics of the Cooking in Heels Workshop

This will be a lecture based classroom presentation led by Vivian Vuong. Vivian has cooked aboard boats on passages, deliveries, and as professional yacht crew on vessels from 37′ – 150′. Rain or shine, guests and crew Vivian has served always leave the table happy and nourished. See what it’s like shopping in ports unknown, how to meal plan for longer passages, and how to organize and prepare food underway.

We will start in the morning, light snacks, coffee, and lunch will be provided, and continue through the afternoon. Learn about provisioning in different ports from the Atlantic, Med, Carribean & South Pacific, organizing and storing food long-term, and cooking for crew in various conditions, sharing tips on making food for dietary needs and restrictions, and how-to’s from serving at anchor to preparing meals in heavy seas.

Location TBD in Fort Lauderdale, FL on November 18, 2025

Price: $375 per person

    testimonial

If you want to prepare for an offshore passage or cruise around the world on your own, getting on a workshop or an Ultima passage with Nathan and Vivian is the way to go. They hold a wealth of knowledge and experience, and what’s unique in the industry is their sociability.

I now have a mental checklist of ideas from them to keep friendships going well past the passage.

When I wonder how I overcome immense challenges now, I can trace my skills back to this wonderful learning experience.
